Historic Broken Dam camp -- Located right on state trail 5 in Nash Stream NH. Built in 1896 for the dam gate keeper and completely up dated in 2001, this camp has everything a snowmobiler and outdoors person would want. From the door yard you can ride all of the state of NH snowmobile trails system and link to three other states and Canada. Fish Nash Stream, Silver Brook, Stratford Bog, 14 ½ pond, Trio Ponds or any of the many lakes and ponds in the area. Hike to the top of Sugarloaf, Percy Peaks or trek the Coos Trail which passes just behind the camp. NEW THIS FALL -- The Ride The Wild ATV trail system will have a trail head and parking on Nash Stream Rd. You will be have access to gas, parking and all of the 1000 miles of trails, only 5 miles from camp!! BDC has four bedrooms and can sleep up to 11, or more if you set up bunk beds. Modern kitchen with double stainless sink, gas stove, gas fridge, plenty of cabinets and counter space with table and chairs for six or more. Heat is provided by propane heaters and wood stove. One 35,000 BTU direct vent in the living room, one 10,000 BTU direct vent in each of the two first floor bed rooms and one blue flame heater in the kitchen area. The great wood stove in the living area is more than capable of heating the entire camp and most of the time you will most likely use it as your primary form of heat. There is a wood shed to store all of you wood and a 700 gallon propane tank to supply those heaters. In addition to the wood shed there is a tool room that holds all your yard tools and the 4000 watt propane fired electric generator which brings electricity to the camps outlets when you decide you need it. The bath room has a flush toilet, shower, gas hot water heater, large vanity and sink all hooked up to a STATE APPROVED SEPTIC SYSTEM. Water comes from a gravity feed system from high up Silver Brook. The windows are all thermopane, some double hung and others are casement or sliding. There is also an " out house " which is vented and heated! A fire pit and picnic table are located along the side of Silver Brook and this area is great for outdoor eating and relaxing. This camp is on land leased from the State of New Hampshire and shares almost 50,000 acres with 89 other camps. If you have ever been through Nash Stream on your sled you most likely have been by BDC -- now you can own it. The road to camp opens for vehicle traffic usually the Friday of Memorial Day weekend and closes about December 8. In the winter access is by snowmobile. If you are a member of the Groveton Trail Blazers, you can park your truck and trailer in the lighted parking lot at the club house. From there it is 8 miles down trail 5 to BDC.
