Hey all,
Just wondering if Jericho Mountain State park is open to UTV (side by side) 4 wheelers? I have a Polaris Ranger, which measures in at 60", and cannot be used on the majority of trails around the state because of it's width. Is there any such width restriction at Jericho Mountain?
Thanks

There is no restrictions as to what kind of 4 wheelers can be used at either Jericho and also Success. The only restricted vehicles are 4 x 4 trucks and of course, cars. Some trails may not be accessible to a side by side vehicle simply because the trail is not wide enough.
Hope this helps.

There has been a concerted effort by AV ATV Club and BoT to accommodate UTVs and RTVs on Park Trails...the Club uses a Prowler UTV (Thanks Jericho Motorsports!) BoT uses a Polaris Ranger, as do Fish&Game and Forest & Lands Workers....sooo it makes sense that they fit on Jericho's Trails....even seen one on the Black Diamond Trail!!!

We saw one on the Black Diamond trail too and he was having an aweful hard time. That trail is narrow and doesn't allow for a whole lot of wiggle room for those utv. This guys was spanking brand new too!

Hence the Black Diamond Trail Designation....Meaning Difficult Trail..use of winch is a probablity. Hatfield-McCoy has Red/Black Diamond Trails...(.You probably going to spill a little Blood and thrash your ride on this Trail!) But for those who like a challange and a little PAIN there's a Trail here for eyeryone....

Be careful at the Success Trail Head. I would have to check with the Trail master, Ron, but I think that the trail head is set at around 60" wide to prevent the jeeps from gaining access to the trail head. The rest of the trail should be fine.

I have seen Rhinos, Mules ,Prowlers, and Tyrex's at Success, Millsfield, Errol and NorthCountry trails as there are few or no gates and even fewer F&G GUYS ......WHY THEY WOULD HAVE A PROBLEM WITH SxS on MOSTLY LOGGING ROADS is something we need to educate people about! It is, after all the fastest growing segment of the sport.......I see RzRs every time I go north now!

The restriction on UTVs is only State-owned lands... The BoT currently doesn't have a 'hard definition' for a UTV (which nationally will be called an ROV... we think)... and thus no signage. I have been telling everyone to check the www.nhtrails.org website for the club that stewards the trail and e*mail the contact.
