Does anyone know if the 2010 Arctic Cat 550 H1 EFI power steering can be installed in a non-power steering 2009 550 H1 EFI?? I just got a left over 2009 and was disapointed to find it was the last year for regular steering. Thanks....

Not strictly as a bolt-on. And costly enough to justify just trading-up.

Not strictly as a bolt-on. And costly enough to justify just trading-up. I agree, This is from there 2011 manual......... "Unlike many of our competitors, our electronic power steering delivers a true variable assist system by measuring not only vehicle speed, but also steering torque, both at the handlebars and at the wheels. At the heart of this system is the electronic control unit. This measures steering input forces, steering resistance and speed, alerting the motor to deliver turning forces at predetermined levels. Making for super smooth and near resistance-free turning, even during extreme lowspeed,hard-steering situations. Arctic Cat has always set the standards for ride technology. And now, our new electronic power steering (EPS) system with variable assist is making dirt waves. Making it much easier to steer and turn. " Sounds like a lot of sensors to wire up! Two other changes on the 550 S related to the power steering was to toe it out 1/8-inch on either side and pinch the front left frame tubing to accommodate the large power steering assembly. The slightly altered toe produced a different and more acceptable feel with the EPS.
