Well, maybe not Saturday but even in the pouring rain on Saturday we managed to get in 20 miles at the park. We arrived Friday about 1:30, unloaded the 11 atvs and set out in in the western side of the park. The trails were in good condition and you can tell that many hours have been put into the trails since last year. Saturday we got there about 10 and there were 3 trucks from RI and us. We never saw the other riders as we spend time off of Brook and Turbine. Loved the new single track trail that was a bit more technical. I can't remember the name of it but nice trail. When we call it quits on Saturday there we two additional trucks coming in from Massachusetts. As a NH resident it was nice to see some tourism money coming our way.
Today we drove over to Success and rode the 20 miles out to the lake and back. Again, we had the trail entirely to ourselves. We did come across some hunters out for the youth weekend. Nice to see kids enjoying hunting with their dads. The Success trail was wet but we had a great ride and liked that trail very much. Can't wait for it to be hooked up to Jericho. All the green diamonds have been painted on the streets for November 7th opening. Good stuff.
Again, nice job to all those who are involved with the system.
Anyone looking for a place to rent check out www.twolakeslodge.com. This is where we stayed. Kinda pricey but with 11 guys it wasn't too bad. It was probably too nice for us and it would be great to see some additional rental listings up on the board. Anyone know if any of the camps on Success can be rented?
Oh, yeah, one last thing...what's the name of the stream that runs alongside the Success trail? I'm going get back up there in the spring with my flyrod!
