I own & operate the Great Northern Moose Lodge & Campground in Dummer.
The Lodge is classified as a B&B by the state, but the builidng was built by Mr George Derby as a Hunting & Fishing Lodge in the mid-50's with the help of his Daughter and Son-in-law. We renewed and kept the overall spirt of the orginal intent of this building when we took it over nearly 6 years ago.
We have direct trail access with landowner's written permission for our guest. Physically we are just over 4 miles from the Deer Mtn/Sessions Pond trail in Dummer. Tye Newell Brook parking area is less than a mile from here and Seven Island's is about 4.
In addition to the obvious endeavors in the North County, we also provide Dog Sledding tours & Rides during the winter, and various packages throughout the year.
We welcome all who wish to come and relax in the North Country and enjoy the area. Within the next week or so, we will resume scooping ice cream so stop by for a look inside, most folks are surprised by the interior of the building.
